ABOUT JOHN

John Dato Valentine grew up in New York City during, in his words, “that wonderful folk/rock period of the 1960’s”.  He learned to play the drums at an early age, and played in several local bands before “falling in love with the guitar” at age eighteen when he was a freshman at Queens College.  He taught himself to play and began composing songs. From the guitar he moved on to the piano and sequencer, which enhanced his songwriting and recording skills.

 

To date he has written over two hundred songs, from folk to rock, from reggae to contemporary Christian, as well as holiday and patriotic compositions.  He has recorded over a dozen CD’s, and his music has been heard in over sixty five countries worldwide.
